Where did you grow up? Have you had sex?

If you aren't a weird anxious grognard you probably won't be able to comprehend the themes here, Chad

They're great. But his popular stuff is a little overrated.
Horror of red hook is best.
Like doom of Sarnath a lot too.

anyone here read everything he’s written? There see fans that claim they have, but I can’t imagine reading a single authors entire catalogue

>> No.22005038

>>22004966
I have, his catalog isn't very big and only a few pieces are long. I've also read all of Nabokov.

His complete body of work isn't that big, and almost all of it are short stories you can read in a train ride, and meant to have quick entertaining factor, instant drama and payoff. There isn't the sort of girth and long buildup like Tolstoy's tomes. So yeah, I can see how some might have read all of it.
Some of his side writings are quite entertaining as well. The article where he shat on dogs for several pages and sucked off cats, pure gold.

I've read all of his fiction works. I think he may have some letters or essays out there I didn't read, but as far as short stories and literature I've read his whole catalog.

I purchased a copy of his complete works. He was the first author whose entire corpus I have read. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I do agree with those who say that his most popular stuff is overrated (Ctuhulu for example).

Give his work a try and if you have a vivid enough imagination there will definitely be some works that leave a strong impression on you.

It was quite a long time ago when I read his complete works, but off the top of my head I think that "The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath" is one that I enjoyed the most.
