From goodreads reviews:

>posed issues for me pretty much from start to finish. The male voice dominates every single one of these stories...

>Even more concerning was how the narrative voice talks about rape in such a blasé way, which was at best dissapointing, and at worst genuinely upsetting...

>I can appreciate that these stories are very much of their time, and that the 21st century is far more conscious of gender equality, sexual assault, and the objectification of women than decades prior...

>the way Dahl writes his female characters were quite problematic at times in that they are treated solely as objects of desire without a character of their own.

I've bought the 4-set of Deception, Cruelty, Lust and Madness as part of my efforts to read a short story every day. Really enjoy Dahl's writing for more mature audiences, he's very readable.

Title is a deadly sin. Reviewer thinks its clever for pointing out "problematic" themes. Wut?

Reading his short stories now. Interesting fellow, good writer. I have difficulty getting a handle on his views from his stories alone. His views of women are odd and kind of of the old tacit belief in male superiority part of which is to not actually say it out loud.

I think they are the same. The multi-volume set is just the same stories as the EL edition but spread out into different tomes and with a larger print. Each volume must have like 8-12 stories each. I might be wrong but these are all the stories he wrote:
