It's because there is so much variety, are you talking about Sanskrit epics, Sanskrit poetry, Sanskrit dramas or Sanskrit philosophical and religious writings? Putting all of that into one chart would be too cumbersome.

>>21948088
We did literally all of that for the Greeks.
>Epics - Homer
>Poetry - Hesiod
>Dramas - Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides, Aristophanes
>Philosophy - Plato, Aristotle
We fit all of this into a single chart, as well as histories (Herodotus, Thucydides) and modern commentary. There's no reason someone couldn't do the same for Sanskrit.

You have to do it yourself m8. Don't come here begging others to do it.

All of their books fit into a single volume or 2 volumes though, whereas this entire chart is just for 1 big Indian philosopher (Shankara), unless you are just namedropping Indian philosophers with a note saying "read their works" it would be difficult to list the exact works and by which Indian philosophers you should read, because you would need like 7 or 8 mini versions of pic related all crammed into one chart along with the epics, dramas, poetry etc

That's what most country/region charts look like. All "Start with the X" charts only feature the oldest works in a language, the Greeks one doesn't feature Greek realism or modernism or whatever, and the Latin one doesn't feature Medieval literature despite in being used well into the Early Modern era. It shouldn't be hard to make a simple chart about where to start and what commentary to read for Vedic Sanskrit.

My knowledge of Indian philosophy is admittedly lacking, but I'd be shocked if it's impossible to pick a few of the most important books for each area. Although I suspect it's harder than for the Greeks, for whom oral tradition was extremely important to the point where many prominent philosophers have no surviving works.
