What exactly DOES an English degree prepare you for?

I fell for the whole "Game Design" thing, and it seems like English is basically that, but more respected: Anything you could do with an English degree, you could do without.

Though to be fair, I was an idiot and went to ITT instead of a real school, even for game design

So it prepares you for the harsh realities of life not caring what you've prepared yourself for?

How is that different from high school? In any way at all?

>hows that different than high school?

you dont need to spend an extra 4 years and go into debt.

you could have spent those 4 years working full time, or two jobs.

you could have spent those 4 years getting a lucrative degree. but those degrees usually involve math, analytic thinking and a bigger work-load, which english majors can't cope with.
