Any good PDF to speech reader? Natural Reader works nicely but I only get 5 minutes a day for free. Don't feel like paying the $19/month or whatever it is. I'm trying to listen to the thousands of PDFs I have downloaded during my commute.
"PDF Reader App" in the google store sucks, btw.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks lads.

I myself am using a Perl/python wrapper for sed/espeak/ffmpeg for later compression and tag setting. It took me some time but I guess an oner 80iq person could cobble it up in a couple of evenings. I could publish it but its messy AF although about 50 lines in total. Just browse the github and fetch some ideas there.

I'm look for way to get more good audio books for free. Does anyone know a good source to download them? I drive a lot for work and it's all that keeps me sane. I've used the Tordroid app to torrent but the search comes up empty a lot of times. And I don't how to search for them in other places. Didn't know where to ask this thread seems like a similar topic.

thats exactly why i want a pdf to speech reader-to read aloud all my free books i have on my computer.
i have been doing Audible for a few months now. it's not free but its like $13 a month so not terrible. you get one 'free' book a month with your subscription which isn't great, but they have a ton of free courses called 'the great courses' that range from history to philosophy to modern topics to meditation to whatever. all for free, and they're like 20 hours each. so for its worth the monthly fee for just those alone, plus i get the one free book a month. currently working my way through Gibbon which is like 120 hrs holy shit lol. it's not great but it's the best ive found so far.
librivox also has a bunch of public domain shit, check them out.

Bumping.
/g/ hasrecently took a hyping interest in AI models you can run off your PC with aims that are sundry but also including 'contextual speech synthesis'. Its a bit of hussle getting them to run but I'm looking forward Into it. I'm interested into 'contextual part' BC it allows for lot more than audio book generation.

Have you tried Yandex stuff. I listened to their pirated stuff just to notice with some surprise that they used some realistic (almost hooman) speech synthesis for their subscription service BC some glitches tipped me off. I never subscribed though.
