We live in problematic times. OP did not define what “male” meant.

Now don’t call me a gatekeeper or transphobic. However, I think to qualify you must have a penis over 1 inch (I’m trying to be accepting for those with micro penises and at the same time avoid the intersex confusion…we can just call <1 inch people other.). Now what about the people with injured penises? The definition should be modified to be anybody who has had a penis over 1 inch. I certainly don’t want to be mean to someone who has suffered an act of God. Now the trans person will claim their penis is over 1 inch and thus meets my rigid definition. bit clearly penises made out of other parts of the body should be excluded. Think about it. If there was a test that showed pictures of 4 penises - 3 of which were real and 1 was trans - wouldn’t anybody be able to pick out which one didn’t belong? In summary, I’ve given this lots of thought and trans people should be excluded from this list of “male” authors.

From what I’ve read, the ones who are decently skilled, who have good ideals about what writing is even if the execution needs refinement, would be Melville Clough, herodes dioniso, S. F. F. V. and P.P, clear interest in decadent/symbolist list and magical realist stuff along with pre-modernist poetry and, to some degree weird fiction itself. Zulu I have mixed feelings on, I’ve not liked how he ends his stories and by no means would I consider him a stylist, But he does have a good imagination and from what I’ve seen he’s able to have interesting ideas, but eh, pick your poison. If I had to single one out from the anthologies, probably check out herodes, his stuff is very clearly in pastiche of the likes of Lautréamont and Miguel Ángel Asturias, all in all I couldn’t find much to complain about with him. Unreal is a mixed bag since there’s stories that are the common 4chan internet overly sexualized violence transgression “he’s literally me “ sentimentalist type, which I very much oppose, but then you have stuff very clearly based in some literary traditions of worth. But this grab bag aspect of it is why I think it fits the criteria for something that catches the young man’s zeitgeist, especially the internet and channer one.

This is good and not a romance even the cover art might imply that. It’s a gunpowder fantasy set in late Victorian time period. Almost as if Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell had continued. I think that author is like 30 and it’s definitely a guy.

Bullshit. The futurists bragged that not a single one of them were over thirty, Rimbaud has ran through his whole career at 21, and there are numerous other examples in European literature. The fact that literature has become a corporate fossile only pushing financial and political interests, as opposed to a living breathing artform full of young energy, is a tragedy of our time.
