>implying anyone has read it

I think I remember enough to discuss it. Favourite chapters were the 2 or 3 Dave Wallace chapters, the one with the dead person, the chapter about the kid's birthday party, and also the beautiful woman chapter. I think I remember most of it (such as the plot was).

At least in his interviews, he seems to be pretty genuinely engaging and nonpretentious, if a little exasperatingly self-conscious. How much of that was an act isn't really clear.

I've noticed something, this guy is to /lit/ what Loomis is to /ic/... It's equally pathetic in both locations, regarless of his merits as an author (which I do not dispute).

My favorite interview line:
>interview has to break 'cos sound guy drops a mic
>"Shit, I was almost halfway lucid there..."

Yeah, I liked that too, but damn if that camera crew wasn't a bunch of unprofessional pricks.

I read it and really enjoyed it.
Favorite chapter, hands down, was the guy talking about how he was a total wastoid in college and how he had an epiphany and started working for the irs
fantastic writing
great book, i wish he would have had the chance to finish it.

I have not read it. I plan to, though

>> No.2181232

so it's like a bunch of short stories? cuase i loved the short "stories" in Brief Interviews With Hideous Men but I found Broom Of The System too annoying and I didn't even want to fuck with that Infinite Jest bullshit after my mom read my that "consider the lobster" shit out of some magazine.

(not the guy you replied to) I liked it a lot, thought it was interesting and funny. I constantly felt like there was some deeper meaning that I wasn't quite grasping. I'll probably reread it in a few years.
