I'm withheld from writing about my interests because I feel like if someone was meant to know or learn about topics they'd find out thru the Holy Spirit.

Besides that. All has already been said in the holy scriptures. What could I possibly still have to say? Whatever it is it would not have value and maybe worse even get people off track.

Those who don't preach know and those who preach don't know. Having heard these humbling words I really don't know what my writing would contribute except wasted time. Creativity is just a channel for my inner unrest but engaging in it seems more like pride and having a haughty heart than something positive.

What are ways to properly channel this inner unrest instead of writing ?

realize that everything is useless and that the nigger is the smartest of all, just sit and do nothing all day. drink coffee and stare out of your window until the sun sets and repeat.

Writing could be precisely an escape for unrest. In fact, besides expounding on a few more practical topics which are particularly relevant to our time, I think escapism is basically the best reason to write.

i'm of the belief that most writing is either to tell a story or to understand a story. it sounds like you need to do the latter. if you're afraid of whether or not you're preaching or contributing to something then that's fine. just write for yourself. nobody else has to see it. but through doing this and understanding your own story it may improve or strengthen these other aspects of your life.

in any case, i too have been trying to reconcile my faith with the pride of writing, and i'm slowly coming to realize that refraining from the art is more a viper than expressing creatively.

think of it this way, do you think your begrudging sacrifice of an art he himself breathed into you righteous? seems to me more of an act, a false commitment. besides, let us say you spent your best years in wickedness, and now what have you for god but your dregs and shame? if you stumble whilst fulfilling his commands, then you are wicked.

we are told to live, and to be an artisan is to work with skill, so long as you do not devise idols or worship your own word, or take pride in that which he has bequeathed unto you, i think you're fine and dandy. recall the parable of the talents. you are digging a hole and hiding what he has given you, when he wants you to do precisely the opposite. mission, my friend. expose your heart and love and worship of god, let that light of the holy spirit flare in your eyes, and do not hide it, nor be embarrassed by it. you may not be a prophet, nor might you be adding to his work, but you are not hiding a charism he has given you.
