Has a book helped turn your life around? How so? Can a hopeless degenerate loser with no purpose become a functional human being through reading any particular collection of books? Asking for a 27yo friend who has achieved nothing in life and wants a do over

Yea. Reading literature will help you develop character and build your self. This is beneficial in all aspects of life.

You don't need a book to tell you how to stop being a degenerate. Just do it.

No, I don't think books could even do that.

since you're talking bad about yourself:

"The Book of Pook" however I would take some of its content with a grain of salt. Its written by a man but imo it applies to women just the same.

Biggest takeaways for me that come to my mind were
>you are the price
>expectation you have in others you have to fulfill yourself first
>youth is a mindset, stay young in heart and be playful
>action dates are the best dates
>not taking any risks at all is the biggest risk
>a failure is is only one if you repeat it otherwise its just an experience

THIS BOOK CHANGED MY LIFE; IF I HAD NOT READ IT WHEN I DID, I DO NOT KNOW WHERE I WOULD BE; IT MADE ME THE PERSON THAT I AM TODAY; I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ANYONE WHO IS IN NEED OF HELP IN BECOMING THEIR BEST SELF, AND TO ANYONE WHO NEEDS AN INSPIRATIONAL BOOST IN QUOTIDIAN LIFE.

TO ANYONE; AGE IS MERELY A NUMBER; PERSONAL OPTIMALITY HAS NO AGE, NOR SKINCOLOUR, NOR LANGUAGE; IT DOES HAVE RELIGION, THOUGH; SO, YOU MUST BE A CATHOLIC —ID EST: A MEMBER OF THE CHURCH.

I WILL NOT GO INTO DETAILS, SINCE IT IS A PRIVATE MATTER, BUT I WAS IN A VERY LOW PLACE; IN THE PROVERBIAL DARK NIGHT OF THE SOUL; I FOUND THIS BOOK WITH THE GUIDANCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, AND IT TURNED MY WORLDVIEW TWO HUNDRED SEVENTY DEGREES ON THE ZEE AXIS (Z 270°); GIFT THIS OPVSCVLVM TO YOUR NIECE, AND TELL HER TO READ IT; JUST DO IT.

I am sure I am gonna get shit for this, but this book kicked off my interest in accumulation of wealth. It started my journey where I went from an aimless student to a professional with promising career and a solid financial foundation

What key points did you take away from it other than: don't spend more than what you have, have a clear goal, ensure you have rainy day funds set aside?

Asset vs liability: for example, many people think that their home is an asset, while it's not

Also his idea of four quadrands, the different ways in which a wagie, a professional, an entrepreneur and an investor think. It got me really interested in the business world as it showed me that there is more than meets the eye.
