IMO Nietzsche is basically Guenon but swap out the idealized Hindu civilization for the Greeks.
Instead of Advaita Vedanta school, Nietzsche comes from the Dionysian Mystery school.

If you understand this POV, you can find a lot of common ground between the two - particularly in their criticisms of the West.

But more importantly, having a foundation in Nietzsche + Guenon provides tremendous insight into Evola.

Julian dislikes Christians due to issues he bases on how Christians interpret the Bible (meaning their lack of esoteric hermeneutics). When it comes to the metaphysics expounded by either Julian or platonizing Christian philosophers they are fairly similar and what I really appreciate in Julian a lot is the tendency for "mystical" thought which is also to be found in the platonizing Christians that I like. I doubt he'd have any issue with the Cambridge Platonists or Ps-Dionysius or Eriugena. Plethon and Ficino have also influenced me to take (mystical) Christianity and the type of paganism that Julian writes about as pertaining to the same perennial tradition and seeing them as more compatible than not.
