How the fuck do I purchase a pdf of this particular abridgement of the Golden Bough? The only option in libgen is a horribly formatted epub. Amazon doesn't offer pdfs. What is one to do in this era of horrible epubs?

dude you can probably read it free online through your alma mater. vpn into your college network and see if it lets you read it. if you live on campus, even easier.

On Amazon, anon. I already said it.

Is it worth reading? It seems like its value comes from some sort of influence it had on other thinkers, but not much value on its own today.

Hi anon. I'm pretty sure there's an epub of that exact version (which is a reissue). I think I remember this essentially being the 1922 abridgement. The content is essentially the same, so no worries there. Just have a read, it's a nice book.

I literally have a degree in anthropology, had multiple courses focussing heavily on Frazer and desu senpai I've forgotten even the absolute basis of his theories

It's full of fun and batshit crazy stories. If you insist on only reading literal truth it's not worth it but otherwise it's a damn good time, and still conveys a lot of worthwhile sentiment about the human condition.

Can't you read? I have the epub. The epub ruins the formatting.
