Absolutely agree, the modern library covers with this format are a bit bland, but they killed it with this cover.
I happen to care about stoicism, I read this book everyday before starting my day for a few minutes. The starting passage of book five always gets me going.

I don't care for much of Evola's thought, but i love this book cover.

The statue is from Arno Breker. 90% of his sculptures that he did for the Nazis was wiped from the allies as form of demoralisation. They were inspiring and exemplified the Aryan male physique (Hellenistic/Roman) among other things.

That cover is tasteless and embarrassing. A binding should reflect in part the content and spirit of the book. A fine binding of Meditations should be modest, sturdy and nearly nondescript. What you have posted is truly awful, nearly opposite the ideal, and would best serve as kindling.

Nice cover, but not sure it counts, since the book is a collaborative work (Willans did the text & Searle the illustrations) & this picture is basically part of the book.

This fits the mood of the book so well it gives me goosebumps.

This has a big flaw in my opinion — namely, the three white/orange thingies look as though they're coming out of the guy's head, rather than being just part of the design behind him. But in spite of this it has to be one of the best covers of all time.
