It was my last book of the year, I don't know why this board has exploded all of a sudden spamming it this week, was it mentioned somewhere?

I thought it was very insightful. It can't you a sense of purpose or a guide for finding pleasure in life, but it does offer ways to resist pain and remain strong in the face of adversity

Marcus by today's standards is a pretty gloomy guy and some of his advice is more practical than others. Chastising himself in order to cultivate an indifference to music is a pretty depressing passage.

I have a lot of death anxiety and reflect upon my mortality often so I thought it was a useful book

Virtue isn’t deserved, it’s earned.
If you falter it only proves you’re human.
Take care of yourself before you take care of others.
Strive to be better than you are.

Great, quick read. Highly recommend. I especially like it because you know you are reading the journal of the last great emperor of Rome.

it simply means to acknowledge the anger and let go, not to not have it. Dwelling in your anger is much worse to you than letting go some dumb shit someone else did or that is not in your control. I have been angered at people my ex included, and when you start healing is when you stop being angry. Controlling your anger is a sign you're a strong man, not the other way around. Anger is a feminine trait since they don't control their emotions.

>Can you sum up this book in a few sentences
No. There's quite a bit of redundancy, but it basically already is a bunch of summary sentences.
>and is it worth reading?
The Stoics, including Aurelius, tended to give passages that divided into cases depending on whether or not there's a supreme intelligence, arguing that the practice follows in either case. It's much easier if you're a godcuck, though.

1. "Not as good as the Enchiridion."
2. Sure, but there are other books from earlier times that are more worth reading. Such as all the works of Plato and Aristotle.
