Favourite Bible verse?

(Not a religious thread, viewing the Bible as a work of Literature)

"In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken; for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return" - Genesis 3:19

"In the asshole shalt thou place the funnel, and the 2nd whore shall puke into it. After thy ass is filled with puke, a cock shall then fuck it until thy pressure is all built up. After thy asshole has been fucked hard enough, thy cock is pulled out and the anal cannon shall explodes! To top it all off, ass to mouth shall occur, with both ladies licking off the fresh mix of vomit and ass for the ultimate Bible verse!"

>The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.
That was ofcourse Pulp Fiction and yes I know it was modified greatly to suit the directors needs, I just love that so much, not because of the movie, I feel that quote right there is something that I would do, I'm not religious but if some one were to hurt one of my family, god help you.

Nice, speaking of movie quotes to do with movies, (Sorry OP I know it's not what you asked, but I will get to that)
And Shepherds we shall be

For thee, my Lord, for thee.

Power hath descended forth from Thy hand

Our feet may swiftly carry out Thy commands.

So we shall flow a river forth to Thee

And teeming with souls shall it ever be.

In Nomeni Patri Et Fili Spiritus Sancti.

As for my famous quote, it's used quite a lot in modern fiction, I just like it so much.
>"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul. He leads me in right paths for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff - they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long."

Not him, but if some one were to hurt lets just say your wife if you have one (Highly doubt it), a man was to come into your house with a gun, rape your wife, beat her, torture her, and then put her into a coma, what would you do? Honestly, I believe him, If it were me, I'd find him and kill him, no question.

No you wouldn't. You'd be traumatised and feel helpless and you'd hope and wait for the justice system to give you redress and when it didn't, you'd become bitter and dysfunctional.

It happens a thousand times a day, to people who also told themselves that they would revenge themselves in this situation. It's easy to talk tough on the interwebs, but in fact very few people actually take the law into their own hands this way.

Killed before for less (Former Army Sniper).

Yes, I would, and I wouldn't get caught. Should probably state that I'm now a cop.

>> No.2145738

Personally, I think I would be able to. I mean, none of you know me, who am I to say you wouldn't be able to, for all I know, you could be a fucking serial killer. I'm just a regular guy, but I have beat the shit outta people for much less.

romans 1:18-32

The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.

Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them

Psalm 137

1. By the rivers of Babylon we sat and wept
when we remembered Zion.
2. There on the poplars
we hung our harps,
3. for there our captors asked us for songs,
our tormentors demanded songs of joy;
they said, “Sing us one of the songs of Zion!”
4. How can we sing the songs of the LORD
while in a foreign land?
5. If I forget you, Jerusalem, may my right hand forget its skill.
6. May my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth
if I do not remember you, if I do not consider Jerusalem
 my highest joy.
7. Remember, LORD, what the Edomites did
on the day Jerusalem fell. “Tear it down,” they cried,
“tear it down to its foundations!”
8. Daughter Babylon, doomed to destruction,
happy is the one who repays you
according to what you have done to us.
9. Happy is the one who seizes your infants
and dashes them against the rocks.
