Hello /lit/

I've been looking at the wiki for recommended reading, specifically epic fantasy. I'm looking for something similar to the Wheel of Time. Can you recommend any of Sanderson's works? I've heard the mistborn trilogy was good.

Off of that list i've read the Wheel of Time, Name of the Wind, A song of Ice and Fire, The Lord of the Rings.

I wouldn't recommend Mistborn, and neither would I recommend the Way of Kings which is much closer to WoT, but I know there are a few zealous Sandersonites on this board and even more outside, so eh. Try it out if you want, but WoK is closer to WoT, and not just in the similarity of the acronyms.

What is same about them? That they are all fiction?

/lit/ is about as bad as /mu/: if it's popular it's bad.

Only on /lit/ it's more like if book isn't a minimum of 50 years old it's terrible. Unless Chuck Palahniuk is involved.

Look. I have no problem if someone denounces bad books (bad as in within some arguable measure). But when you pile all books of a certain type like fiction into one category I wonder what it says about you.

Read the fucking Mistborn trilogy.
Best fantasy series I've ever read, and the only one that made me want to keep reading instead of put the book down in dismay.
