Why would Munro do this bros? Are girls really the way she writes they are? Her affair stories are deeply unsettling to me

Can I get some recommendations on lit that glorify adultery? So that I can know which books and authors to avoid.

Munro can convey more thought and emotion in a ten page short story than Woolf can in an entire novel. Like many modernists Woolf spends way too much time babbling from 8 different character perspectives about an idea that a few pages and a single perspective easily wouldve sufficed

>> No.21412391

>>21412387
This may have killed my interest in Munro, how can I trust the word of someone who missed the point of the modernists/Woolf so hard?

>Munro can convey more thought and emotion in a ten page short story than Woolf can in an entire novel.
Emotion is for faggots and this is an exaggeration. Woolf was the better prose stylist.

There is no point to miss amigo. There is a reason why the modernist style was stone dead by the second world war, and has since never been resuscitated

Other anon:
Woolf is great. Glad you like her. A little dated perhaps, but you're 100% wrong about emotions. You're a faggot for not connecting with your emotional self. Everyone who locks their emotions away suffers from it.

Well, actually, egalitarian values come from the enlightenment. most of those guys had a very faint idea of morality besides "things that me feel good makes it right". Your view, and most of the dreck that came from that period (hur dur) was all based in fleeting sentimentalism

Well, you certainly missed the point of the multiple perspectives. Modernism did not really die out, it is still dominant. Most literature since WWII falls under realism or modernism with a couple decades when post modernism was just as big as realism and modernism.

For Munro-reading Anons.

Can you give me a list of your top 10 favorite short stories by her? Maybe the top 15?

I’m not talking about the best books or collections, but about individual stories, from all of her books.

What are your top ten?
