Anyone seen this film yet?

What do you think about it's depiction of the writers? I thought Zelda Fitzgerald and Dali were pretty spot on.

BUT IN THE MOVIE HE WAS DEPICTED RIDICULOUSLY, e.g. DALÍ REPEATING HIS NAME SEVERAL TIMES FLAMBOYANTLY; "DALÍ DALÍ DALÍ!".

I loved it. I especially loved how Hemingway spoke the way he wrote, and Corey Stoll's honest and brave attempt at capturing the persona of a literary giant.
My only real gripe is that Bunuel didn't get enough screen time. I love me some Bunuel.

>>2135985
Well, Dali was a pretty flamboyant character in real life.

Have you seen the Dali museum? He wore a crown and carried a scepter.

His obsession with royalty and himself was crypto-fascist, and it shows when he abandoned his country during the civil war and later admired Franco and Ceausescu. Orwell said he was a good painter and a disgusting human being.

>>2136001

Hemingway was perfect, although I can't believe everyone called him by his second name. I was waiting for Joyce to appear with his little glasses and sauerkraut frankfurters.

Motherfuckers don't realize the comedy in this movie.

I was a bit high but still, i know i would've still found it hilarious and nobody in the theater other than some of my friends got it.

also, the boyfriend. god every scene with him was hysterical.

I can't tell if Owen Wilson is a good actor. I define good actors as ones who can do a variety of different characters, but OW tends to play the same airhead-type. In this he seemed kind of airhead-hipster. Though I don't know if anyone else would have been able to accept the magic realism as well as he did.
