What does /lit/ think of reading multiple books at the same time according to one's mood. Will it boggle my mind and experience? Will I end up wasting time and getting nothing out of reading books? I'm noob and can't read a book at one sitting.

Op here.
Also suggest one book on romance and one on surreal literature.

I am too autistic to read multiple books at the same time. I like to focus on one book at a time, give my complete attention to it and fully immerse in it. And once I'm done with the book, I like to ruminate on it for some days.

You got the wrong board if you think people here read.

A girl I know says it's aled "cheating" if you read two books at the same time. There's a book called Name of the Rose, and I started reading it 3 years ago, but I've read about 80 titles since starting it. She hates me for cheating on that book, and says I would make a cheater boyfriend.

Is it any good? I liked the other work by the author, but I can see how someone gave the book a pause if it's as rife with references and characters using french, italian or latin.

I read about 10-20 books at a time. It turns out that some of them lie with me for a very long time and I read only 1-2 pages a day.

It basically depends on how easily your mind is boggled.

I do it and makes me read more often
always keep a poetry book in your rotation
you miss out a little bit, some things should be read continuously (not binged but just regularly and exclusively) but overrall I much prefer reading different things
