Look at Bukowski's life. He had booze, women, and a successful writing career: Everything a c/lit/oris dreams of. Unfortunately, your dreams don't wont become reality

But he never had talent.

He started having women when he was 50.

Sorry I'm not interested in ugly writers who write aesthetically displeasing horseshit.

Bukowski's life was not as great as it sounds.

He had booze, no doubt about that.

Women? Kind of. I'm not saying the guy was a virgin, but I see no reason to believe he was swimming in poon like Wilt Chamberlain either. He had a shy and withdrawn personality and extreme acne in his youth. He married at 37, divorced at 39. Shacked up with Frances Smith but considered her to be ugly. Later had a few more relationships.

Successful writing career? He kept working at the post office until he was 49. And it clearly wasn't out of love for the work that he stayed on. So, while he might have been generating literature, he wasn't successful enough to quit the "day job" so to speak.

Let's just say I have hobbies that facilitate such results.
