This is the case of most psychopathology. All attempts at defining psychopathologies can only ever be defined as "Behavior outside of societal norms" and that's the farthest they can reach in justifying the "illness" part in mental illness. This is why things like homosexuality and transsexuality went from psychopathologies to normative, because normies decided to consider them normal (I have no doubt a Society of autists would diagnose your average normie with BPD). If one conceives of traditional gender roles, homosexuality and transsexuality is unacceptable, and that's the only reason you need to justify such an assertion. simple as.

All it means is that most people will agree Descartes, Locke, Spinoza, Aquinas, etc., are reasonably "important" philosophers, though someone might split hairs and say Duns Scotus or Gabriel Biel isn't. The point is that generally speaking, it's not just that women can't compete with the absolute titans of philosophy like Plato and Aristotle, it's that they can't even compete with a 100+ list of figures most people would agree on as "top 100." It's probably more like top 500, since woman philosophers can't even compete with the Scotuses and Biels of philosophy.

The point is that, on any averaged and fair list of philosophers by talent or importance, you would have to go very far down the list until you found a single woman in the rankings. It would be hundreds of entries down at least, by any objective standard. Whether you're a staunch British empiricist who puts Hume a hundred entries above Plato is irrelevant in this context, what is important is that even a staunch British empiricist would at least put any woman far beneath both Hume and Plato.
