Psychology is absolutely worthless read Physical control of the mind by Dr Jose Delgado and Operation Soul catcher by Dr Robert Duncan.

Psychology is a secondary field of study at best that is nearly completely invalidated by AI and neuroscience.

We live in a world of sattellites, brain chips and cell phone towers so believing studying psychology will give you any benefit is like studying a book on engineering steam engines.

What trumps psychology is interacting with people and noticing patterns in their behaviour and asking them questions. Reading books doesnt really teach you much unless you can apply the knowledge directly.

What questions would you ask someone? Say you are on a busy street, you catch someone. What questions do you ask them to learn about them? How would you interact with them to learn their behavior?

also what is it about patters in human behavior that you cannot believe they could ever be written down?
I could write a book called "how to spot a cookie eater" and then the book would be description of a person who frequently purchases packages of cookies, or bakes frequently, then eats the cookies. I could have a section where I explain why people like eating them, for instance due to hunger or their sweet tooth. This book would therefore teach you about cookie enthusiasts, it would show you patterns in human behavior.
This book isn't really trumped by anything, it shows you the pattern in behavior the same as if you had noticed it yourself. If you wanted to notice a pattern of eating cookies in real life, you'd know someone, you'd see them buying a package of cookies every day, and then after dinner eating them with some tea. In my book I would write about a person that every day buys a pack of cookies and eats them with tea every day. It's behavior with a pattern that you learn just effectively in writing as in noticing it in real life. When someone answers question, you can then write down their answers which you can later put it in a book that others can read, and reading that book will teach you the same as asking the person the question yourself. By saying reading books doesn't matter you also admit that asking people questions doesn't matter.

I do agree that psychology is useless but that's mainly because knowledge of human behavioral patterns does not benefit your life in any capacity. Just like reading about steam engines are a waste of time, knowing how steam engine works doesn't help your life at all so doesn't knowing anything about psychology.

DSM 5 is written in very plain and easy to understand language.

>DSM 5 is written in very plain and easy to understand language.
The problem is that it lacks theory and context. It's a reference for active practitioners, like the PDR.

No. I'd fuck a fat chick first. This bitch thinks her shit don't stink and that man is here to please her. The fat chick would atleast appreciate the dick and probably suck my dick for as long as I wanted.

>knowledge of human behavioral patterns does not benefit your life in any capacity.
You either have a narrow definition of "human behavioral patterns" or a lack of creativity for practical application. Most pop-psy titles have a good overview of biases and heuristics that can be exploited in business and relationships.
