21021461 No.21021461 [Reply] [Original]

We should make a daily /EVOLA/ thread in which we discuss the Baron's work, draw in practical tools to use in our daily life, confront his writings and our different opinions on his writings, and why not, even criticize them in some pieces (he would have approved that since he never wanted to be worshipped).
There are three requisites...
1) Having read the Baron book you are commenting on
2) Doing some sort of physical training
3) Sex with a woman at least once in your life... If you have point 1 and 2 you can ask questions but you can't make commentaries until point 3 is achieved.
Today we start with Ride the Tiger... the most "modern" and practical of the Baron's books. What was the message the Baron wanted to transmit? What message did YOU get?

Still not reading Evola until I've read all the other useless philosophers. Remember: Philosophy is not about the world. Philosophy is about one particular person opening up their entire inner world to you. This is why "refuting" is such a dumb concept.

>> No.21021518

>>21021498
The philosophers you read give you an acceptable starting point for Ride the Tiger, although his most philosophical work is The Absolute Individual (not translated in english).
If you're truly familiar with Nietzsche you can see how his work is in part, the blossoming of Stirner and Schopy. In the same way, in Ride the Tiger you can see the blossoming of Nietzsche, the critique of Nietzsche by someone who Nietzsfhe would have called an equal, if not a superior.
I say this unironically: in Evola I found the only modern philosopher who's general "worldview" or inner world as you described it was enough to quench my thirst significatively. Enough to make you consider abandoning the pursuit of philosophy and move on to something else

>>21021518
You say that as if I was reading philosophy. It's very low on my list. I'll read Plato and Aristotle soon-ish because I'm reading the Greeks currently (albeit slowly).
I got Evola only because I was quite into neofolk. No idea when I'll even get into the modern philosophy. It might take years. Maybe I'll never read it. I'm not particularly in need of any self help.

I think this is a generally good way to frame him. In Nietzschean terms, he is an actual practical and affirmative attempt at a revaluation of truth in uncompromising and also (unlike the pomos and other later philosophers) creative terms. Probably worth comparing/contrasting much of what Evola wrote with Beyond Good and Evil, that would be a fruitful effort if anyone were to bother.

Not that guy but; metaphysics deals with the ultimate nature of reality, not philosophy. The latter is the love of wisdom, of which the former is a branch thereof.

Ride of the Tiger is not practical, it's a commentary on the current philosophical trends of his days. People think that's it's a practical manual because the English edition who added a retarded subtitle. This truly shows that people who talk about books don't read it

The is true. The title is not an imperative. Evola is theorizing on a differentiated type of person, who may not even exist, and what would be required of them to ride out the final stages of disintegration. If you connect with vaporwave trad memes on a spiritual level you are not this human type.
