What non-fiction books have you read lately? Would you recommend it?

>The Selfish Gene
Really enjoyed it. It explains practical Game Theory in a way that I now apply to other things too.

>Sapiens
Really not that good

>The Home Invaders
Some anon on here shared this book. It's about a cat burglar working for the mob. The writing was atrocious, but there were little bits of info that were really interesting.

I also read a book on cultural history of Europe in the 20th century. The author (something Bouman) laid out a clear path of development in the art world in several disciplines.

I know it's bullshit without even knowing the actual name of the author and the title.

There is a narrative non-fiction book called Raiders and Rebels: A History of the Golden Age of Piracy. It's thoroughly entertaining.

Understanding media - pretty good explanation of how technology is either hot or cold depending on the level of participation, and how each new technology deterritorializes mankind

Economy and society - sociological work which talks about the upward/downward mobility of classes, and how different types of leadership produce different societies, as well as the role of money in society through taxation and rents

On The basis of morality - pretty good ethics book by Schopenhauer, basically says how one should live with little material comforts and act as compassionate towards others.
