the most based brainlet of all time

>work as a carpenter and later a luthier i think (i'm not googling this shit)
>never read a book until middle age
>it's fucking ayn rand
>decide she's epic and 100% correct even though he's never read anything to challenge her ideas
>proceeds to write a series of fantasy(why?) novels filled with BDSM smut promoting his new randian worldview
>they actually become bestsellers and make him a millionaire
>goes to a bunch of interviews and screeches about how fantasy novels are faggot shit and his books are not technically fantasy, and that he has never read a fantasy novel
>dies

But yes he's just more grist for the mill and will be replaced within a decade by one of the next 1,000,000 crop of fantasy author brainlets who seem to grow on trees.

I like how the Wizard's First Rule isn't even a rule, but an observation

>> No.21012473

>Goodkind had no trouble selling his first book to a publisher. "I'm sort of the exception that proves the rule," he says. "I wanted to be represented by the best agent in the country and I wrote him a letter. He asked to see the book and he liked it. He showed it to a number of publishers. Three of them had an auction. Ten weeks after I'd written 'The End' it sold for a record price ($275,000),"[2] the most money ever paid for a fantasy novel by a first time author.[3]

Stumbled upon this author by some fat weak nerd while in basic training last year. Some of the better fantasy novels I’ve ever read. I stopped on book 8 after I finished OSUT.

I was the fat nerd’s only friend, and he gave me all of his books which included the chain fire series. I should get back in to it
