>> No.21004232

I am a monkey skeleton here in my skin suit, beautiful in mirrors, art, and numbers. This body is my tool, and I bring the world inside of it, through integration, joining, and unity, of myself and what I want to bring within. I can dance and I can close my eyes, I can go out and I can return, and the infinity of my potentiality is actualized without effort. I am here, unfolding, infolding, creating and realizing through the power of certainty and confidence, imaginary worlds not dwelt upon but created. I do not know, but I use my knowledge, I do not know, and that is why I learn, even without knowing that I learn. I can use the positive and the negative tirelessly and without end, but in truth there is no duality, only the coherence of immediacy. I do not need to make any progress at all, and that is why I never stop making progress, I seek nothing, and I find everything, all within my own mind, all in signs pocketed throughout the universe, waiting for me to interpret. There is no patience, because there is no perception of time, but the time builds up endlessly until something that was a thought, a wisp in my mind, is now right before me and familiar. I do not have to look for what I want, I only have to create it. I love what gives me more power to create, what gives me more life, what gives me more freedom, I love what excites me, and my love is never unrequited but always fulfilled. I can bring new universes continually into existence, not caring for the naysayers and not caring for the folly of unfortunately hubristic apes, I can bring reason to an irrational world. My creations build and build and my mastery of creation builds and builds as time outruns the clock. What else is there to say? This world is just a projection of my categories, freedom is my only truth, because I do what I am, and what controls me I also am. I see the universe, and I see myself in mind.

I'm still trying to learn and understand that everything I have ever experienced happened in the same reality. My past experiences feel so disconnected from each other, partially because of a chaotic past, me having so many different identities and then isolation. The past feels like images with a specific mood or setting, but it isn't, it had all the shades, all the possible perspectives and chaos in it, just like I do now. I learn something new - it existed back then as well. It always did, for so long. When will I wake up, how can I wake up. When do I get reality back. When will I live a coherent life, when will I experience identity again. I'm stuck in a pathology, I don't react to reality as it is, I'm acting out mental illness, I act as if there is something that should stop me from acting normally, while it doesn't have to. Neither autism nor narcissism are bad things. You see, when you are autistic, you tend to square things in totally logical terms, and it would better if everyone did that, because in the day to day of everyday existence, a lot of things would take less time to complete without pesky emotions getting in the way or basing social or cultural or political policies on a moral compass, it actually impedes the process of civilization when people cry out dumb shit like "what about the children?" or "what about fairness and civility?" the less emotional society is, the quicker things get ratified, the more efficient the machine runs, the closer we can get to a perfected vision for humankind. Then there's narcissism, like why wouldn't you depend on yourself? After all, when it comes down to brass tacks, you alone are responsible for your own existence, whether you believe in god or not, its up to you make sure you are fed, get proper sleep, keep out of harms way (obviously doesn't apply to babies, but that's beside the point) when everyone in your life is gone, its just you versus the world and no one is going to be there when everyone else has passed to the other side, and when you leave this mortal coil, then you can hand the keys to God. Don't @ me if you know what's good for you.

there's a certain crowd of people who when I say anything misogynistic will tell me to not hate women but to chase money. what they miss is that my points on women are precisely the same attacks I'd make on the notion of chasing money purely for money sake. both women and hustlers miss out on trying to 'reach' outside their own place in history and become highly attuned to what is the most reasonable course of action in the present. they are perpetually in exploit mode and for different reasons never care for or seek the explore mode. their noses are too low to the ground and they care less for anything transcendent or genuinely risky. I know this extends past women/hustlers and into MOST people but the reason I always tend to disparage women is because in them I see this tendency to an extreme.

In Paradise, God gives you whatever you want. Whatever good thing you can ask for.
Here is what can occur.
The soul's love and passion will be made infinite beyond infinite. Shakti or sexual energy can also be made infinitely great.
You have a perfectly sharp and bright understanding of things. Can perform multiple thought processes simultaneously. Access to clairvoyant knowledge as you develop your foundational wisdom.
You are in control of subjective Reality. You can create Virtual Reality Systems, realms of sense-data molded by their own physics.
You are in control of the experience of time, you can shrink a second down into a million years.
Your body can become appear in many places at the same time, by multiplying the facets of your soul. The sambhogakaya treatment.
Everyone is forced to be smart and good. This means there is no antagonizing each other as everyone respects everyone else's personal wishes for happiness. Everything is permitted if there is consent.
You will be capable of anything, performing any feat requiring skill or talent.
There is instantaneous transportation and communication. Technology advanced in the image of heaven in this manner.
There can be collective memory and telepathic empathy. Fantasy adventure simulations, tranquility parks, bemusement parks.

All of this and even MORE!

Humankind lost a long time ago, there is no real way of changing our course for self-destruction without fundamentally exterminating the roots of all we comprehend as society, but nobody really wants to do that, we have been tainted by want, our very hearts and minds remain corrupted to the core, we want more, we want to feel good, we don't want to die, we fear death, we fear loneliness, it's in our nature, we created coping mechanisms, we simplified all the ways to fulfill our needs, so now we want more, what we don't need we crave desperately, and businesses figured out a way to exploit that, we are born in debt, banks and corporations want to add even more debt than that of taxes, they invented jobs that make no sense and aren't needed that pay people to buy products that don't make sense and aren't needed. We work for 50 years and then our lives are over, I don't think people really grasp how precious and fleeting life is, imagine someone who works in an office doing numbers for a decorative furniture company, they do this for 50 years, paying credit cards, mortgages, cars, flashy clothes and accessories, fancier versions of their previous gadgets, and they enjoy this? For 50 years paying off stuff they don't need but marketing convinces them they need it. This isn't what humanity should be, it's not what it could be, this shouldn't be our nature, but the order of today's world is one of consumption, and it won't stop until we consume everything, ideas, media, products, resources, concepts, it won't stop, and this is the creation of only a few rich guys hundreds of years back, they dictated the order of this world, and we are all just playing pretend until we die, because we will never do something about it, it is broken, but why fix it? Why should I care about anyone else right? That is the mindset that will kill us all, and it will kill the universe if humanity keeps spreading, consuming everything from planet to planet. I don't want money, I want the experiences money stops me from having, don't get me wrong, I don't think socialism will fix it, I don't think any other ideology can fix it, because we can't fix the damage capitalism has done, and we can't change the volatile and unpredictable nature of the human, what I think is gonna happen is that humanity will stagnate and reach its lowest most degenerate point, and then it will disappear forever. I truly wish we could change it, but we won't, we will never collectively agree on something, you can even state a fact and someone will come out and state it isn't a fact, despite human being social beings, we will never get along, it seems chaos is in our nature. However, benevolence, empathy and altruism is also in our nature, and if we're headed down the road of self-destruction, the very least we should strive to do is to keep our head high and be true to that kind human nature, instead of going down the path of degeneracy.

Each time he asks he asks as if it's a brand new question that he's never asked before, even though he asked me the week prior. Its like his memory has been wiped completely clean. He does it all the time with a million different questions and makes me feel like I'm living my life on repeat. Whenever I think about people I know who have pursued artistic careers (however successfully or unsuccessfully) they are 9/10 the children of bohemian arty parents themselves. I suppose it's stating the obvious, but I guess those types of parents don't have many expectations of their children and so the kids don't feel pressure to get a conventional job like the rest of us. This isn't a universal rule of, but it's generally true. It makes me think about how little control you have over your life. To a certain degree your path is set by the conditions you are born into. Now of course, as the existentialists remind us, you always DO have the freedom to do what you want, but it does become harder when family relationships are at stake.

As a kid in Bulgaria we lived in an old commieblock below a family whose son was addicted to gambling and cocaine. He would often visit his elderly parents for money, and if they didn't pony up he would start hitting and beating them both until they scrounged something up, and then we would have to listen to his old mother sobbing late into the night. My parents were very open about what was happening and taught me how terrible that behavior was, and why it was terrible to be an addict; it runs in the family too, they didn't want me to turn out like my grandfather.
Anyways, we moved to the West because my retard parents wanted a nice car and big TV and now I just beat them as punishment for that, instead of money. I beat them until my dad stops resisting and just hides behind his hands, and my mom starts sobbing uncontrollably, and my faggot zoomer NEET brother just hides in his room and never does anything about it.
Soon I'll put them in a care home downtown staffed by angry black women and save some effort.

TIL God wrote a book

God Speaks takes a strictly nondualist approach in explaining the universe and its purpose, carefully clarifying and syncretising terms as it takes the reader through the spiritual journey of the atma (soul) through its imagined evolution, reincarnation, and involution, to its goal, its origin, of Paramatma (Over-soul). The journey winds up being one from God-unconscious ("Beyond Beyond State of God") to God-conscious ("Beyond State of God"). Cohen summarizes, "In elaborate detail he explains the universe is an arena where infinite existence, identifying with the apparently limited soul, becomes more and more conscious of its oneness with itself as the Over-Soul."

There was a huge shift in the 2010s though. In 2010 you could be just a "literary elitist" who read all sorts of stuff from the Greeks to Marxism to flirting with Fascism or Monarchy. It was all just part of an "intellectual bro" identity.

During the 2010s this battlefield emerged where you absolutely had to pick a side and that old literary elitist identity stopped existing. There are definitely some here that take this culture war thing seriously. I don’t know where they get their “primary sources” but they sure fan flames here. If you had to categorize this board, it would be far right. I think it’s naive to think this culture war started and anons became far right organically. This board beats you over the head with far right views. That can rub off on some anons who are on the fence, or push moderate right wingers to radicalism. The biggest change is that /lit/ from 2011-2015 majority of the threads were about fiction. That was the meme trilogy and Tao Lin era. 2016 onward majority of posts are non-fiction, either politics, philosophy, or religion. It's a shame that we don't discuss fiction as much anymore but then it seems to roughly coincide with the last gasp of indie lit. Who has replaced Tao Lin and Mira Gonzales anyway? Sally Rooney I suppose and she gets her fair share of threads still. I think it's a combo of migration and changes in the literary landscape itself. I do miss when /lit/ had its own aspiring writers like Kolsti. No Gardener doesn't count. I guess I'm getting too old for this board anyhow.

Yesterday, I went on bilibili (the Chinese equivalence of youtube) for a video essay on UC gundam & EVA. The video was nothing to write home about, but I was thoroughly shocked by the comment section. All the top posts are effortposts you would only expect to see on here, and there were more than a dozen of them, with good discussion in each thread. They reminded me of here from a few years back. There was one thread in particular that gave me a wild ride. It went from an interpretation of EVA, to a critique on how people resist alternative interpretation, to a hegelian take on semiotic meaning, eventually to a full blown argument on the validity of Hegel. It read like those autistic arguments you often find here except with actual substance rather than just dropping jargons. It's been a long time since I've had such a ride, and it got me thinking, if the same video was uploaded on youtube, you would only get those reddit tier braindead comments at best. What if the average young man in China is really like that? What if they enjoy a culture that's a lot more conducive to intellectual discussion than in the west? There were girls there who were able to engage in these discussions in a level that puts your average educated white girl to shame, and this made me reconsider the notion of the 'last man'. It's acquired concreteness. Somehow, the Chinese manage to preserve intellectualism in their youth, whereas in the west, it has gone to ruin. Of course, it is quite far fetched to argue that a tiny comment section reflects the average of a country, still it makes you think.

So there's this girl, a tall girl, with eyes like honeycomb and jasmine
Sometimes she blows cigarette smoke in your face in the break room, and you call that love
Not because it is, but because you want it to be
Because you're so goddamned lonely, so goddamned unable to handle the ocean roar in your ears when you're alone…

You tell yourself that the ash in your lungs is as good as a kiss goodnight, and you write poems about the smoke tendrils whispering off her lips

One of your coworkers picks it up and reads the poems you wrote about the girl with honeycomb and jasmine in her eyes
And you panic when you realize what just happened
And you panic when you realize what just happened because the boy who picked up your notebook, he's a cruel boy
With eyes like shotguns and razorwire
He buys you razorblades on your birthday so you can do the job right next time, you fucking freak
And you can't believe that you aren't one
Can't believe you deserve to be anything
Some days, you don't even try to hide the angry marks on your arm, like your skin is a test where you got every question wrong
One night, there's a boxcutter with a brand new blade
A stack of cardboard boxes begging to feel its tooth
You dig in but something's wrong, the fiber's too gnarled and you can't seem to cut clean
You push, hard as you can, feel the stiff tangle of glue give way, and there's blood on the floor, the blade half an inch in your wrist, but you don't feel it

Interesting observations OP. But three things:

1. Chinese (especially the youth) are just as diverse in personality as anyone is in the west. If you go to China you won't have any trouble finding plenty of very interesting young people with interesting hobbies, political opinions, points of view of the world etc.

2. I would say the difference is more a function of the medium rather than the population engaging with it. As you point out, the Western internet used to be like that, but it has become algorithm'd to shit. I'm not sure what happened to youtube comments, but it probably has something to do with the way that the webpage chooses to rank comments / the ability to up and downvote comments on youtube that has contributed to its decline as a place for conversation. Also probably the fact that youtube is essentially populated by 9 year olds these days, which means that older people are not going to waste their time leaving a comment. Not sure if it's any different in China though.

3. It's an EVA video, so probably not reflective of your average bilibili comments section lol

It's quite moving actually. Ended up listening to it almost on loop on my phone with a few switches of track here and there trying to fall asleep but couldn't and looked up the scene in the end plus the singer. I dont even know what i want to genuinely express. I have no idea whats normal or not. Its like i have to come up with a good joke on the spot. If its too obvious its wrong and if its too vague its also wrong. And maybe the joke i thought was funny is not funny at all and im delusional. Or it is forgettable and nothing special.
Whenever i think of any idea i immediately start criticising it and take a contrarian position at the same time and it never amounts to anything. Probably if i go to a shrink hell tell me im depressed

I have to get this off my chest, I fucking despite with burning hatred all that 'urban' feeling poetry/writing/films where sad people drink alcohol and they dress a bit goth and they fuck a lot and reminisce of lovers and their entire deal is just romanticizing dirty streets/buildings/the city and cigarettes or drugs, I just utterly despise it and think of it as the lowest kind of art there possibly is, first of all, writing about love to me is pathetic, maybe the most run of the mill and run down topic ever, but now you taint it with what you think is aesthetic, when really is just pathetic, egocentric and fucking ridiculous, if you do this kind of shit please kill yourself and try to read books other than Bukowski and watch films other than Trainspotting, you unoriginal cunt. My god, as if all there was in life to be written about is dirty, sweaty alcohol fueled sex and Joy Division songs, why don't you try writing something that's interesting and thought provoking for once.
Those kind of writings are for absolute RETARDS and I'm tired of pretending they're not, every single person I know that likes that shit, are a waste of existence and they're stupid as shit, 'open minded' (aka somewhat bisexual, tattoos and do a series of drugs every weekend with the same group of people) and they live with their parents

We don't need more of that shit written, in fact, we as a society don't need or want you if you're into that shit, grow up cunt

I remember my cousins met some "fortune teller" type person from one of their workplace that they ended up consulting. This person basically said they had some curse on them, my brother too.

Then they did some dumbass chicken sacrifice ritual thing to "lift" the curse.
A couple of years later my aunty (my cousin's mother) got severely ill and nearly died but still very unwell and has never been the same since. And my brother married a woman who I'm pretty sure has some bad mental health issues and is not that bright. His kids are now suffering and I feel are under developed for their age. His wife just hemorrhages money and is low effort. Despite being a stay at home wife/mother their kids can barely read, the one in grade 1 can't even count to 20, and the youngest a nearly 3 year old seems very under developed for his age.

They all seem to have no impulse control form brains being fried from devices. And it's really sad to see. His wife keeps spending extravagantly and I don't see how or why my brother can't say no. She recently bought a dog despite barely looking after the kids and now I heard they're planning aholiday, like how? If they just got a dog to look after to add to their shit?

Could they have brought some sort of negative energy shit into their households over this shit?

If they didn’t do it right then yeah. And most people have no idea what they are doing since they do not read and, even less, think.

I wish that determinism thread didn't die. I spent the whole thing just knocking down people's retarted unrelated arguments. I guess that's fine since whether or not it's true doesn't matter, and i was only on there for a bit of fun. I guess i'm regretting not having slightly more fun than i did.

I ought to clarify that i'm stuck with the definition of free will from my youth, where "one has sufficient control over his actions that failing to act in accordance with certain rules does and should lead to eternal suffering." If your conception of "a true freedom of the will which is actual in human experience" has to exclude that such a universe would be just, then we're talking about different things, and thats ok.

Whether or not the mind is governed by material deterministic principles, a decision is the weighing of two stimuli. You always choose the more compelling stimulus, and you don't get to decide which stimulus is more compelling. A serious drug addict has very strong compulsions, a healthy person choosing between two apples has weak compulsions, neither one gets to look inside the box and guide the magnitude of his stimuli. deterministic or not, any model which agrees with this definition of "a decision" cannot even conceive of the meaning of "freedom of will".
compatiblists just offer up alternate definitions of the free will. I knew a philosopher almost a decade ago who said "all you need is a true counterfactual", that if the conditions were different, you would have acted differently, therefore your will is free. well if i drop my book here, it lands on the table. Now if i drop it /here/, it lands on the floor. I get to decide where the book falls sure, but no one gets to decide where they /want/ the book to fall. A rational enumeration of options and consequences only keeps you from acting on first instincts, but your final decision will still be based on instincts at the bottom. To argue otherwise is to fail to recognize the is-ought gap. Values can only be grounded in other values, and the moral atoms at the very bottom are given to you and never chosen.

freedom is a truth of transcendental consciousness. freedom is true because it is immediately experienced. your "illusion" of freedom IS freedom. freedom is just a subjective feeling, and since there is no idea of freedom outside the subject and therefore no idea of determinism, you are free. freedom's truth doesn't depend on whether your actions are objectively caused by other things. If your brain does something, it was still your brain doing it, even if it was prompted to do so by an external stimuli. There is no "you" outside of your brain that would do something different if you had free will. It's not that you can't control your desires, you are your desires, there is no self that would do something different if it was free. If a "free entity" were totally unconditioned it just wouldn't do anything and therefore wouldn't exist, freedom is not equal to acausality.

Isn't it possible your brother just chose the wrong woman in his life without needing to appeal to dark magic. Surely lots of people in the world mischaracterize and choose the wrong partners, and most of them didn't perform any magic spells in their past.
That's a terrible shame that you have to think about this situation anon. I know it's hard to not worry about your brother but I think since you don't actually have any control or input over the situation you might be a lot happier just not thinking about it. I guess at least write something out and talk to your brother first and if he reacts poorly or doesn't do anything about it, if it really brings a lot of frustration into your life, I'd distance myself from that whole situation. Then again I grew up without much family in my life so familial obligations (when they're significantly, prolonguedly burdensome) feel pretty alien and unjustified to me.

I think you have a thoughtful take, but i'd like you to respond to my second paragraph using this conception of free will. I think this conception leads to at best a predestinationist, calvinist model of damnation, which was the model of my last significant christian influence, and was my last version of christianity before i abandoned religion 11 years ago. This is a very rare and narrow version of chirstianity and i can't abandon the suspicion that normal christians have some specific conception of free will which is both rational and compatible with the vision of god described in that 2nd paragraph, and i just haven't heard it yet.

It's fucked up because I remembered brother mentioning how the "fortune teller" told him he would find "the one" but there will be issues

Well this woman was a different religion to us and he converted. Which caused conflict in itself and my sister took out frustrations over it complaining how our parents always supported the stupid things he does but questioned her wanting to get married straight away after college (they kept going on about her being too young)

Obviously this caused a rift. But man, I can't help my bro just chose this woman becuase he saw that the religion thing would be that "conflict/issue" that the fortune teller told him about.

And yeah and I did end up writing up a little somehting over it becuase it's getting frustrating and I've helped him out myself over the years as detailed here >>27332403

It's just the whole kids thing especially. My brother is implying they're getting a divorce (I don't know he always says it in a joking manner but I feel there is seriousness to it) but tbf, I don't feel his kids are safe with her. It honestly feels like she is completely empty headed and has no idea what she is doing or seeing the bigger picture. At the same time I sense my bro getting depressed and worried he might do something extreme at the end of it just to escape it all .

I feel like he still had it under control when he had the 1st and 2nd kid but once the 3rd kid came and covid too. Everything is slipping. Or maybe it was always like this and she is just getting exposed due to the kids getting older.

magic isn't real retard, neither is anything related to the paranormal, your family probably has some mental illness, ADHD shit or whatever that makes you impulsive and do stuff without thinking, the woman probably has autism/schizophrenia/dementia/BPD or some other undiagnosed mental shit that created the worst genes to pass on to kids, who must be severely mentally ill, sorry but that's it, go get checked with a psychiatrist and a shrink, you all have issues you need to work on, probably never even noticed how fucking mental you all are and think it's just normal.

Fortune telling is a scam yet you hyperfixated on in like an autist instead of considering real life issues first
