It's literally impossible for the non-Anglo to understand Lord of the Rings

I understood it alright. However, it's impossible for non-Catholics to truly understand it.

This is either bait or Anglos are in literal critical condition spiritually. Most likely both

That's a common misconception Catholics have regarding these essentially modern pagan works.
Catholics are famous for denying the obvious and pretending they know something.

It is essentially finnish mythology and it is near impossible for a non-finn to understand it.

That's going a bit far but I agree there are a few things they might have trouble with.

THINGS IN LOTR WHICH NON-ANGLOS MIGHT HAVE DIFFICULTY UNDERSTANDING

— THE SHIRE
The Shire is a comfy little rural English village. JRRT grew up in one and watched that whole way of life destroyed by industrialization & urbanization, which is where Saruman comes from. When /lit/ writes a modern version of Walter Savage Landor's 'Imaginary Conversations' we should have Tolkien & Uncle Ted. They would agree on a lot and disagree on a lot, which always makes for good discourse.

— SAM'S FISH AND CHIPS
Fish & chips is a meal we have in England. The recipe is a well-guarded secret but is believed to include a) fish and b) chips.

— FRODO & SAM
Their relationship is a bit like a country squire & his gamekeeper. There's a class hierarchy but it's pretty amicable. Some other European countries had similar things; I don't think the USA ever did. (Maybe something like Scarlett O'Hara — Mammy in Gone With The Wind.)

alright you retards stop shitting in each others mouths and help me out. Which of the more "extended" works are worth picking up? I'm thinking about getting the Naysmith illustrated edition of the Silmarillion (which I've read before several times) and was wondering if I should also pick up:
*) The Children of Húrin
*) Beren and Luthien
*) Tales from the Perilous Realm
*) Unfinished Tales of Numenor and Middle-Earth

Which of these are memes and which are worth reading?

>> No.20930422

>>20930309
I can only speak for Unfinished Tales but it's really good and I would recommend it.

>an attempt to create a semblance of an english mythology (nonexistent otherwise) which is nonetheless a catholic allegory (I know what Tolkien said, I don't care) is impossible to understand to non-angl*s, despite the fact that non-angl*s would be more familiar with the mythemes presented and straight up borrowed, and that it was angl*s who strayed from the faith so one of their fat depraved retarded kings could keep marrying and killing wives

Europeans can understand it, it being composed of many different European traditions. All of which love and celebrare their own contribution to it.

Non-Europeans, they can understand it, but in doing so they are made aware they could never create such a work, or be included in its creation. That by including them it is made less.

This is why they hate it, hate you and hate what we create.

Other peoples understand it perfectly fine and can appreciate it. But like anons point out how some authors have a rancid fanbase, racists make that appreciation difficult, like everything else. Ever read Wole Söyinka? Check it out.
