So this guy had autism right?

that's a very low-quality way to start the thread. if anything aristotle's scientific methods were more practical than his contemporaries since he actually believed in observation instead of pure speculation. Although I might be wrong based on what you consider "autism"

It's just the way he writes. It's not that he filters me, I mean I understand most if not everything, but it's so incredibly dry and monotone. It's often absolute toil trudging through his points.

He writes like that because he want to systematize knowledge. You could say the same about Kant. That only make them boring ---or "dry", as you say--- when you are not interested in what they want to express.
If you want a clear reason and contrast on why Aristotle is formulated in that way, you could read some book on the pre-socratics. (You can also grasp the same idea by putting attention on how Aristotle describe what pre-socratics said ---and also compared to how Plato paraphrased them).

No. He believed strongly in friendship and was married and had children. He said “to live alone one must be either a beast or a God.” Meanwhile Plato never married and was obsessed with esoteric doctrine and his dead teacher Socrates. If anyone was autistic it was Plato.

why should I bother with this guy when I can read and reread Plato instead?

Read Categories and Prior Analytics. That is pretty much all that matters for understanding subsequent philosophers. You could read metaphysics but it will be much more productive just to google the terms prime mover, unmoved mover, self moved mover, final cause, entelechy, and potential.

Oh and substance, essence, and being. They are important but Reading metaphysics won’t help you understand them.

worth remembering that not a single word of his extant writings was meant to be published
supposedly he wrote some very beautiful dialogues, but all have been lost in time

it's amazing how much translators mess with, i can't believe i lived without knowing the τὸ τί ἐστι and the διὰ τί, can you imagine reading these two translated as reason and essence and not seeing the connection of the τί, when aristotle uses τί alone two pages later for quiddity or substantial individuality.

Thinking of Aristotle as a systematizer like Kant proves you still haven't understood him clearly enough. Aristotle only gets labelled as a systematizer because his intellect is so far ahead of most of his readers, such that what is actually just reasoned speculation appears as a "system" because his basic thought process is that sophisticated.
