Anyone have any good embarrassing stories of your family, peers, or coworkers reacting to something you've written or something weird they've caught you reading?

>add coworkers on goodreads
>update my profile to reflect that I just finished reading On the Jews and their Lies
>some coworker reports me to my boss and I have to explain to my boss that it was class (it wasn't)

I had a phase where I read a lot of edge-core like Ballard, Bataille, Ellis and my girlfriend almost had a breakdown over it, because wtf-is-wrong-with-you

>Told my mother I was writing a novel so she'd get off my back about what I do in my spare time
>Apparently she's told everybody she knows about it, and views it as a great achievement
I just want to be left alone

Not embarrasing but funny, I was reading bataille in class, i think it was erotism, and this stacy asked me what I was reading. I explained to her that what I was reading was not a piece of erotic fiction but a study of eroticisim, though he had also written his fair share of erotic fiction. I went on to tell her a bit more about bataille as a writer. She looked at me prety weirdly and said "uhhhh alright." She never talked to me again.

Needless to say I'm still a virgin.

>Dad thought I was a pedo for reading Lolita
>Dad excited for me when I published my first story and said I should get off the literary crap and start writing a fantasy series just like GRRM to make millions

I'll admit it. That comedian guy actually made me laugh a couple of times. He's genuinely pretty funny, though I'm sure he's a huge fag IRL.

Family: Will you tell us what you write about?
Writers: Not unless everyone gets cool about a bunch of stuff really quickly, haha, because you guys know I'm pretty edgy so in this book there's an obvious metaphor for Donald Trump and I kill him in the most-
Family: We were just being polite. Everyone has met at least a dozen people who said they were writing a book, half of them never get started and the half that do invariably suck in ways that a normal person can't even describe. You may as well say you're starting a country for all anyone cares or believes, and saying that you're starting a country where people die and use drugs doesn't make your unwarranted self-importance any more interesting to anyone but you.
