How to find new books and authors? Most literary journalism focuses on YA or scifi/fantasy stuff, and ignores more "serious" authors. The new James Joyce could be out there and we do not know about him.

Where are you looking for lit journalism? I never run into that stuff.
Read literary journalism written for adults, like in newspapers or lit reviews. Read lit journals to find names. When you find an author you like read their interviews and see if they namechecked anyone contemporary. Read the reviews of their books for comparable authors. If you find a publisher you like, browse their catalog. If you spend even an hour a week on this you will have a ton of stuff to check out.
