The writing in this book is as easy to read as it is to slide butter around on a hot plate. Your eyes can glide from word to word and page to page; it's just that easy and fun to read. Then, before you're even aware of it, you're reading about a middle-aged woman who's sitting on the burning floor of the ship's halls, screaming in pain as her face melts like wax and blood pours from her orifices like viscous, red paint. There's humour, light-heartedness and a flow that would maintain the interest of a twelve-year-old with ADHD, with some of the most gruesome sentences I've read in a non-fiction book mixt in.

10/10 highly recommend.

Now, that's hardly a original premise, but it seems to me the author has a mental breakdown after the transformation because any coherence in the story leaves. Each scene remains well written and engaging, but the connection between the scene before and after does not exist. So you have almost 400k words of 'snapshots' as mindwiped adult man in a foal's body, struggles to love what has now become an abusive, resentful and schizophrenic 'mother'. All the while other characters accept that Anon has been unpersoned into the unicorn's daughter with total normalcy.

"Zombie" by Joyce Carol Oates. It's not about zombies, it's a fiction book written from the perspective of, essentially, a psychopath who wants to turn captives into mindless sex slaves. Basically a serial killer and sadist. It was incredibly refreshing to read a book written about such a brutal premise with such a complete lack of compassion or morality. Looking forward to reading some of the other books on this thread, as I've never managed to find similarly fucked up books

Just finished Full Brutal by Kristopher Triana. Pretty fucking intense. Anything by Edward Lee is a good bet too. Header 2 is probably my favorite.

High Life by Mathew Stokoe is a definite 10/10 as well.
