"Spell check" on a phone keyboard means every word you type in the keyboard is sent to a server and compared againg a dictionary there. There is no dictionary on the device, its why the spellcheck doesnt work if your data is off. All the banking passwords, bitcoin wallets, everything.

Its a literal keylogger.
