What is your favorite Conan book? For me it's Rogues in the House. I like how insignificant the scope of the conflict is in comparison to most fantasy books, and even compared to many Conan books. It's not an epic battle of good verses evil, it's just about the machinations of two scheming noblemen, with Conan caught in the middle.

Man, those Japanese Conan covers are so cool to look at. My personal favorite is probably The God in the Bowl. Not his best, but I like the setting and the transition from a human threat to a supernatural one—frequently an element of Conan stories—is great.

I agree anon. I didn’t realize until I watched more of this guy, but those personal lower scale conflicts are really the biggest appeal of Sword and Sorcery.
