Amazing how that show [TNG) always indirectly addressed homosexuality if at all.

As if "Discovery" isn't already bad enough...

People get promoted for being members of protected classes, or historically oppressed minorities, not for competence. So there are endless failures to perform duties.
They fault alien species for being "all" something (given that Star Trek already does that), but that only ticks them off and starts battles the woke-trekkers can't win.
They stop dilithium mining because of the effect it has on the environment, then act surprised when they can't fuel their starships.
In the absence of knowledge or skills, they expect the computer to do everything for them.
Experts offer credentials, not experience or judgment.
To even debate the merits of the other sides’ perspective is to legitimize evil.
By striking "intolerable" things from history, they are incapable of learning from it.
When challenged by aliens, they fall to pieces, whine "I'm literally shaking", and expect that to win the argument for them.
"Their" truth over "the" truth.

That was a deliberate choice by the people in charge of Star Trek, to avoid alienating people in the not-so-woke 1980s/1990s.

I liked the alien.
Him being an autist and not knowing what to say to his GF was retarded though.

Say what you will about L. Ron Hubbard's religion, but his sci-fi was top tier.
"Battlefield Earth" was simply too big to turn into a movie. Remember the "Dune" movie? Same problem.
It should have been a several-dozen episode series on Netflix or something.
I think I would lose my mind if they ever did that with "Mission: Earth".
Despite being ~500k words, I've read it twice. Simply sublime.

Such a based book, from a female author.
Has a rather extended section about one female character's experiences being a willing underage boytoy.

I sometimes wonder if women used to be more based but got cognitively assraped by modern society. Is there truth to that?

I enjoyed them in middle school and enjoy them now. I think what I like most is watching everyone (that survives) grow and have kids. Then having those kids grow. It has interesting interesting between clans, house cats, stray cats, dogs, humans, and nature. Oh and each leader has 9 lives. Plus prophecies each volume.
