based now I get to be at the top of the thread

There's a couple duplicates here because sometimes I buy books forgetting that I've already got them. I have 3 copies of Crime and Punishment and I still haven't read it. I will probably buy more

I would post my shelves but it would show what a mess my apartment —and by extension my life— truly is.

Nice selections, What are the red books on the right? I like the rise and fall you have, but you're missing half of it. Those ediitons on the bottom of religious texts looks nice. I'm going to get an oxford bible soon.

>>20606047
I've heard that. My wife is always making me sort and clean and throw stuff away.

>>20605597
This looks a lot like my best friend's house. He and his wife are successful, have friends, participate in the community, go to church, but just like animated japanese stuff. At least it's clean and well-organized. You should consider at least some literature that's not dominated by images.

These are some of my favorites. I like the Harvey and the Burton.

>red books
They're English History by Macaulay... I found them in a bin so I couldn't just leave them but to be honest I'm thinking of putting them somewhere else because the topic doesn't interest me.
>Rise and Fall
I am indeed missing half of it. The book seller only had the second half, but I have a pdf of the whole thing on computer so I can just read that and then read the physical book for the latter half. I think it's unlikely I'll find a 1st half of the series without having to buy the full set and have duplicates.
>Bibles
thanks, some of them are rather old, been in the family for a while so while they're in poor condition I'm not likely to part with them

Yeah, It's odd that people break up sets. I have a few rare books that are 1 of 2 volumes and I've been looking for mates for years.

Posting again, what am I missing bros

>> No.20606843

I think people buy the first few books and plan to buy the latter ones once they have read the first ones but never get around to it.

Or they take one of the books out of the set to read, perhaps on a trip somewhere, and it goes missing.

That's just some 19th century French stuff. Flaubert, Proust, etc.
