I've been wanting to write my own story for years, but I don't know how to write too well. I read online educational material only, not novels. The biggest problem is that I have a short attention span, so I've always gravitated towards comics, webcomics, and manga rather than novels. I am really wanting to buckle down and become a better writer, though. I was going to try to learn through example (the best way I learn). Can anyone recommend me good novels or audio books that would be interesting for manga readers with shorter attention spans? My favorite genre is fantasy/psychological thrillers trope-breakers. I convinced myself the place was abandoned but there where still covid mask signs on the doors and the vending machine was stocked. Unfortunately the peace was broken when I spotted one person studying in a cubby. with my illusion shattered I quickly left the building. Overall the staircase skylight might be the most impressive architectural expression of the city. A triple height space of pure concrete, something evocative of a of a parking garage mixed with a tomb but with all the fixings and detail of a cathedral.

I felt like the first two JW movies were a bit sanitized, less brutal somehow, but JW3 felt a lot harsher. very fast-paced, but it works because everyone's really there for the dinosaurs, and they take the opportunity to show as many cool dinosaur things as possible, and a whole bunch of new dinosaurs too. It's also very fanservice heavy with Ellie, Grant and Malcom being MCs, and there being a lot of references and call backs to the first movie. A bit cheesey at times, when the characters try to say something meaningful, but it's never too long, and then dinosaurs happen, so it's fine. Also didn't hate the child character as much as I thought I was going to.

Like I said, it's very much the spiritual successor to the second JP movie- not the first one. All the same flaws, but all the same positives too.

I had a potentially very stupid idea.
Long story short, I’ve developed a crush on a girl that used to go to the same school as me after seeing her social media and stalking it from time to time.
We barely knew each other, but I heard from a friend of mine that she at least remembers me and thinks my jokes are funny.
Now comes the stupid idea: since we have no contact and the chance of us running on each other is practically zero, I thought about creating an anonymous profile and sending her a dm.
At first I would just say we went to school together and I ended up finding her profile by coincidence (which is true). Then I would mention that she seems cool and I wondered why we never got to know each other and see if she wants to keep chatting.
The reason I would be anonymous at first is that if she thinks I’m strange or weird for wanting to get to know her, at least that shit wouldn’t leak over my personal life, since we know some of the same people.

Yeah I quite often have dreams in which I'm aware I am dreaming, but I'm otherwise unable to control them and my 'awareness' that I'm dreaming seems to come and go. I also used to have frequent sleep paralysis, but the more it occurred the sooner I was able to recognise it as sleep paralysis and then 'work' my way out of them, typically by concentrating my entire will on moving a single finger, then my hand, then enough of my body to tear myself out of the dream and wake up. I was able to recall specific memories and then navigate about that vision like a video game. It was slightly different to a dream, because I still 'felt' conscious - in the sense that I definitely wasn't sleeping. Although with the benefit of hindsight, I suspect I was entering something of a waking dream-state, I suppose not dissimilar to what I imagine occurs under hypnosis.
