It's not how to write them, there's no formula for pouring feelings onto paper, but you might get an idea how to start.

Think before you write and be honest. Don't write shit because it "sounds romantic" because it's probably cookie cutter cringe. Think about why you actually love her, and write that.

b) The best things are details that you remember about her that shows her you notice her and think about her. Of course if you can't actually remember any details about what she says or does or wears you're a bit stuck.

Just read some authors' letters. Find any interesting author that sent letters and see if there is any book on that. Kierkegaard had some interesting letter and he really wrote quite well, it made me more interested in reading author's letters. Right now I'm reading some of Gauss's letters, it's helping me get better at German too.

With my wife when I write a love note it's typically about how happy I am she's mine, how awesome of a wife she is, she is irreplaceable, etc. Maybe mention specific stuff she's done for me lately as evidence of her excellence at being my wife eg: cooking dinner, doing dishes when I'm tired, etc.
And obviously mention that I love her and compliment her smile, her personality, whatever.
That's pretty much it anon. I'm no Casanova but she loves getting love notes from me and will often give me one as well

Best of luck and just approach it with an attitude of you are blessed to have her.
