It’s likely I’ll never have any success as a writer, but I am working hard and improving. I don’t really care about success or being a writer anyway. That’s not cope either, I have never had the desire to “be a writer”. I just have an idea for a novel I would want to read that doesn’t exist and I’m doing everything I can with my limited ability to make it exist. Once it exists, I’m done. That being said, if it were somehow to get published, I would not post about it here. There’s a crab in the bucket mentality here and I do think writers (especially modern ones) need to be distant from social media. Die nameless in poverty like a man with the hope the right person will eventually read what you wrote, don’t debase yourself by caring about marketing.
