I don't get it. What he says isn't really *that* profound.

Cope and seethe. DFW was based. Without him, there would be no Jordan Peterson.

I don't think much of anything is profound. Sometimes things I read make me smarter, make me laugh, and make me bored.

He was sincere in a world drenched with self-distancing irony. Don't talk shit about my boy DFW

Everything about this man disgusts me. I've never read him, but judging by pics alone...

Most people aren't that profound. The thinkers who really catch on are the ones who express not very profound things in a not quite profound way.

In the future he won't be remembered but no one will read books anymore so

The opioid crisis in America? Your average Joe has problems with phone addiction (doom scrolling.) Drugs are now a staple of our culture.

The new sincere stuff is rubbish; irony is the apex of cognition in art and comedy, but his deductions, sourced from his observations of himself and others, have only become more apparently correct as time passes. If you can find "nothing" profound in his voluminous texts I would question you linguistic IQ, and recommend you find a hobby more fitting.

I read his biography and was shocked at how much of a coomer he was. Wrote about porn and hip hop like some trashy journalist and ultimately used his smarts and semi-fame as a means for sex. I think he wanted to be "genuine" but had too much emotional baggage and ultimately couldn't overcome his own addiction to pleasure
