I like how Stephen King uses (brackets) for describing a character's thoughts, sometimes mid-sentence. I've never seen another writer do this, it almost feels like experimental writing at times.

Has Stephen King ever responded to being a character in Call of the Crocodile? That was ridiculous. JK Rowling and him both get kidnapped in that book.

Rofl welcome to /lit/! XD
Honestly though. Call of the Crocodile reads just like a King novel. If it were not for all the extra commas I would believe King wrote it if it had his name attached to it. The “big twist” is even just as goofy and out of left field as The Stand’s.
The fact that King himself is a character in CotC is just the icing on the cake.

>> No.20505363

>>20503915
Watch The Shining. King dilated so hard when it came out because it wasn't 'faithful' so he made his own version where he was part of the directing crew of some shit. It was a 90's remake and it's absolutely godawful. Kubrick improved King's story by a mile.

SK is king of the midwitts.
You should have out grown him when you graduated High school.

He also died in 1999 in that car accident and they just replaced him.
The gunslinger books written after the accident are trash.

Stanley Kubrick (PBUH) was one of the greatest and most based men to ever grace the face of this earth. He will go down in history as a visionary, eclipsing most authors and artists in his work, his work ethic, and lifestyle. Reminder, he intentionally moved away from the scene so he could focus on his work; holding urban life and the bugmen their in contempt. He had small dinner parties and invited neurosurgeons and others, who attested he was more well read in their subject than they were (just listen to the commentary on 2001). And while he was an atheist, he always rejected humanism, stating his movies were Christian as it revealed true human nature, as we see in A Clockwork Orange. His movies also revealed clues about himself, being a master in the art of retention, the bits from General Ripper weren't jokes but truth, and he refuted casual sex in his final movie, Eyes Wide Shut. And he repeated his craft to do hundreds of times to achieve perfection. Most people comprise. Kubrick didn't.

CJ Cherryh does something like that in Cuckoo's Egg to give echoes of a character remembering something some said in the past. It works really well.
