Specifically developed in dealing with the things it's been dealing with for along time, like other humans, or yknow... fucking nature.
And good thing too, since nature is such a large and complex body. Any logic we've been working on for even 100 years falls flat on its face when we try to tackle nature with it. See name a fucking ecological disaster.
Maybe one day we'll have developed enough to be able to actively develop ecological plans.
Today is not that day, chief.

The reich was seriously considering absolutely fucking destroying the mediterranean ecosystem. What motivates humanity is 100% not relevant to what makes a good idea. Humans aren't smart enough to fix a broken planet. Again I'm all for the idea that in some future scenario when humanity has become one with the singularity, that authoritarianism will work, but this is not that future scenario.
Listen... think of it this way. Authoritarianism needs an authority, right? Well who is the authority that you want to put in charge... fucking humans? We have enough difficulty conservatively managing the ecosystem of a single area what the fuck makes you think we could PROACTIVELY manage an entire planet.

>Everything else is just repackaged wealth redistribution and marxism, neither of which works.
So it's either authoritarianism, authoritarianism, or authoritarianism? Man, if only there was an ideology that humanity should seek to manage what he is evolutionary equipped to manage, and not try to meddle in things he is woefully incapable of managing. Hey did I just think of it? I'm gonna call it... um... the anti age of consent philosophy!

Economy predicated on consuming means we must keep consuming. Movies, goyslop, goyslurp, latest bauble and toy that fills a brief spark of novel amusement then dies. Autarky of any kind becomes impossible. And, as time marches on, people become conditoned to a prison they no longer mind, they know they are in one, it is nor gilded or comfortable, it is barren of meaning and purpose, but you get to watch the latest movies and shows.

Also, and I honestly should lead with this but I can't be assed. Why are you equating capitalism to consumerism. Take for eaxmple that end goal of marxism. It is literally to have a hyper consumerist culture.
No seriously I'm not going to just let this go, explain yourself.
Why are you equating capitalism to consumerism.

This is literally just "the ideal of your system isn't realized, so we should try to realize the ideal of mine" Except a million times worse because capitalism is one of the only practical philosophies on earth that states in no uncertain terms that an ideal cannot ever be reached. It's literally a foundational principle.

Let me put it this way, the problem with capitalism is that it allows people to create problems and it doesn't try to micro manage solutions. I understand that your contention with capitalism is the freedom it prescribes. But my point is, you're not arguing against that, you're talking about a bunch of other shit that has nothing to do with what you're trying to tackle.

You need to justify authoritarianism. You're not a god, you're not a super intelligent AI, why should we give you authority. And you know damn well I mean the royal you so don't try that.

>No seriously I'm not going to just let this go, explain yourself.
>Why are you equating capitalism to consumerism.

Every Western Liberal Democracy has an economic system that, at its foundation, is built on the premise that people buying and selling products and services. That is it. The more goods and services we sell to each other, the better the economy. This is basic consumerism. The more you consume, the strong the economy. Contrast this with the less people consume, the weaker the economy.

This places us in the unwelcome position of incentivising all manner of disgusting behavior. As fat, couch-surfing, diabetic who is unable to produce anything themselves is a perfect consumer. While also dying earlier, if left unattended, with continual intervention they can prolong the life/suffering or a 300 pound person far beyond the norm and extract every red cent from them. This should be repugnant, but it has become normalized in the same way that eating natural and healthy is no longer the norm.

>Let me put it this way, the problem with capitalism is that it allows people to create problems and it doesn't try to micro manage solutions. I understand that your contention with capitalism is the freedom it prescribes
Every system allows for this. The problem here is that it is happening at all times at all levels of society. Profit above all. Capitalism at the local and mid level is unbeatable at raising living standards and decreasing povery. But now we are seeing the opposite, as the acquistion of capital overrides all over concerns. Family, loyalty, kinship, culture, heritage. All are erasee by the societal drive for capital.

The mindset of if i stay late and miss the growth of my boy, i will make up for it in his later years or that both mother and father need to work ans pay a stranger to raise your child is the only result of this system.
