What are some good books on the Moors? I know this is sort of a /his/ question but they tend to give scant assistance in recommending actual book titles and tend to just want to discuss history per se

More like “lol spain is brown because of them” x 500
Also if you can’t read French or Spanish it’s over.

>go to university library catalog (any major one will do)
>search keywords related to your search like "berbers history" or "almoravids" "almohads" "taifas" "barbary pirates"
>skim the list for general-looking titles (and any titles you're specifically interested in obviously)
>open a few general ones
>look for Subject
>look at whatever the galactic association of librarians has decided to call this subject field, like Subject-History-Barbary Kingdoms or Subject-History-North Africa
>open a few subject fields
>scroll around looking for general overview books
>either open newish ones that look comprehensive, or open old classic ones that were probably the standard book on the topic for 50 years or something
>google a few to see which ones you like
>libgen the winners
>see which ones you like
>read

This guy is Puerto Rican actor Luis Guzman, he's genetically indistinguishable from a "Moor": combination of Mediterranean & subsaharan.

It's a work of fiction, but the Captive's Tale from the Quixote was written by a man who was legit a Moorish slave for several years, so you know for sure there was a lot he was telling the truth about:
