I have a kindle. It works great, has no glare, and does exactly what I got it for (to be a portable library). I have a smartphone that does every single thing a tablet does (including even reading books) so its totally pointless for anyone to buy a tablet. Those things are just for show if you ask me.

I've had my kindle for about a year and there is literally no other gadget I've ever had that I've used more. You can throw it in a large pocket and bang it around and not have to worry about it too much because it doesn't have a big price tag and is relatively tough.

Both. E-ink for regular books so you can enjoy the long battery life, and a tablet for textbooks with a lot of graphics, tables and complex formatting.

The Entourage Edge has both e-ink and a tablet.
