I've been working on a science fiction novel for about the past year or so. As part of the world building/character development process I've written an in-universe manifesto from the perspective of one of the characters, which has helped me better define my personal philosophical/political beliefs.

I want to make sure I transmit these ideas competently to the reader. Not just establishing my ideological stance clearly, but opening up the reader's mind to the ideas presented. In essence, I want to make some sort of impact on the wider culture, even if it just gets a discussion going. Any books that serve as good guidelines or examples on how to do this?

For those interested, my developing ideology is basically Anarcho-Theocracy. Reduced to its most memeable terms "Corporate consumerism is le bad, Individualist Spiritualism is le good."

Persecution and the Art of Writing by Leo Strauss will suit, I guess.
