I just got done reading the three-part biography of Theodore Roosevelt and it was interesting the whole way through.

What other historical figures have such interesting biographies? ie. They lived a life with the exploits of several people worthy of being remembered by posterity (ie. Academic and scholar, world leader, adventurer, soldier, law enforcement. elite, tidbits like his wife and mother dying in the same house on the same day, etc.)

I've been reading Stephen Kotkin's three-part biography of Stalin that he refuses to release the final volume of, and I quite liked it.

All the ones who left behind tons of correspondence/documentation, etc, to give the biographer a lot to work with. Why not read about the other US presidents?
Also, have you read his Winning of the West?

I have a Lincoln bio next on my list.

I have not, is it worth it?

I'm afraid it's only on my to-do list. Was it mentioned much at all in the bio?

I think it was mentioned, but there wasn't much detail about it.

Check out Edward Rice's biography of Richard Burton. Burton wasn't just a translator, he was an explorer, spy, soldier on various opposing sides during colonial wars among many other things.
He was good friends with Rudyard Kipling, who wanted to write a book about him, but didn't because he didn't think anyone would believe it.

William Manchester's 2400 page biography of Winston Churchill is usually the follow up to this.
It is not boring for a second.

I wanted to read this shit since like 2014 and specifically avoided learning anything about Stalin because of it, but I'm waiting for it to be completed.
