Should I go to college if I want to study philosophy?

>> No.20332691

College is for networking and internships, that's it.

That's lame, I don't' like talking to people.

>> No.20332696

Not really. You can just study the classics and make your own stuff. But if you want an excuse for parents to give you money or to get a degree and become a wagie. Yeah, go for it

college is for going into debt so blackrock can force you to eat bugs

Are you planing on getting a law degree after? No? Then no. Just read more books, retard. Harvard and Yale both post their reading list.

>> No.20332700

No, unless you're planning on being a priest. Jobs are extremely competitive and the culture in most western philosophy departments is awful.

>> No.20332748

>>20332700
I kinda want to be a sort of priest. I'm interested in religion, just not Christianity.

there is one in my country that, if you study and finish any degree, you can go back and get a degree in philosophy for free

For the love of God, don't.

What country are you from? Sounds based. America doesn't cater to academic achievement or betterment any longer.

>Shoooould I bury myself in debt to study a worthless degree?
Pardon if you’re not American. Imagine paying for an education? That the hells-cape I love in

Nope.
Unless you fancy studying 20th century Anglophone analytic bullshit

This was me. I wish I did theology instead. Only semi interesting module was philosophy of religion. Everything else was just diet math and armchair psychology that left me wondering "What's even the point of philosophy? Why did these professors not just study real math and real neuroscience?"
