i think he said somewhere, like in the introduction or preface, that he didn't intend people to identify with harry. i actually dropped it the first time i tried reading it when i got to that part talking shit about jazz, but when i went back read the whole thing, the trippy shit at the end made it worth it i guess. probably my least favorite of his books tho even tho it's one of this most popular.

i wasn't offended, i just felt like it was going to turn into some big message about how great german high culture is and how modernism is all degenerate or whatever which i wasn't in the mood for. it wasn't that at all of course, and i eventually went back and finished it.

Stop getting your political views off the internet, and if you genuinely have a /pol/ brain it's probably for the best to stop thinking about politics altogether. This includes not wasting your time getting mad at equally idiotic views from the left or libs.

Read classic works of literature, read philosophy and take notice of how in comparison, the stuff /pol/acks talk about is absolute brainlet tier garbage, just as bad and often worse as other internet content only designed to get you mad. Learn to analyze the world and culture without jumping to moralizing, and without necessarily picking a "side" like a worked up pleb.
