Stop using this word. Philosophy is not about refutations, it is not a journey from unrefuted confusion toward refuted clarity, philosophers don’t spend time refuting one another.
On the contrary. They spend time clarifying one another and advancing their own self-defined conceptual projects. Imagining philosophers as refutations of each other misconstrues the field as an endless roiling polemic progressively approaching final “irrefutable” truth.
Also, search all the secondary literature, you won’t find anything approaching a stable consensus this word implies. If Levi-Strauss were “refuted” by Derrida this would imply his thoughts were simply wrongheaded and needed correction before disposal in the dustbin. Actually, secondary literature and new anthropology grounded in Levi-Strauss’ observations and theories continue to flourish to this day, with appropriate modulation with reference to other thinkers whose work seems relevant to the case at hand.
Stop thinking in terms of refutations. You will find yourself unable to think for fear of being refuted yourself. The paradox of philosophy is not that it is endlessly negative, but that it is constructive by means of negativity.

Go back to the middle ages if you want philosophers to dance around and hug each other.
This is the 20th century, and here we fight.
