20107631 No.20107631 [Reply] [Original]

Reminder: on April 23rd we will start reading Don Quixote.
If you've been thinking about reading DQ, thid may be a good time.

>> No.20107851

is this a once a week, one chapter sort of thing? is this happening here on this board, could we just have a dedicated IRC for this?

How many pages/chapters a day? Is there a schedule?

>> No.20108666

Do we have a (bi)weekly schedule like we had with Moby Dick?

>> No.20108676

Rabelais is the better version of Cervantes. Should have done that one instead.

Actually excited to start. Any recs for the best translation to use?

It depends on what /lit/ think.
4 chapters per day (25-30 pages?) could be a good approximation but i don't know whether people have much spare time.

Without finishing it, I would say its probably the greatest thing I have read. I haven't read all that much, hoping to get onto Moby Dick this year. The book is quite big though so I have been reading it for a while, I will probably move onto Mishima - Sound of Waves.

It's at the very most an hour. Don Quixote isn't all that dense and it is generally entertaining, so it's not a lot at all

Posturing like this just makes you look retarded. Maybe people read multiple books at a time, or maybe people are simply too busy to read more than 30 pages. The point is to pick an amount that everyone is able to manage, so we can all keep up with the discussions. It’s not a competition

this is a board deeicated to literature. if you don't read at least100 pages a day you should leave. seeing that people complain about having to read 30 pages a day is pathetic

How is that posturing you fucking gorilla nigger? You're posting in a LITERATURE board. If you don't fucking read don't come here. I'm sure you're one of those retards that keep spamming "bookz for dis feelz?" threads shitting up the board right into the abyss. Are 30 pages too many for your dopamine fried brain? I swear to god this site as a whole is utterly unusable and devoid of any kind of actual intellectual discussion. YOU DON'T BELONG IN HERE

Being 'That Guy' that smugly points out how "pathetic" it is to read 30 pages a day, while gate-keeping an anonymous internet forum is much, much more pathetic desu. Did you miss out on the janitor application process or something?

Is that one annotated? By who? I've got mine by Francisco Rico. Great edition. I'm guessing this one is not that bad if both RAE and ASALE are involved.
