The majority of conspiracy theories are indeed bullshit, but they are bullshit designed to draw attention away from the actual conspiracies. So for example, pizzagate was a load of schizophrenic bullshit, but that schizophrenic bullshit actually served a valuable purpose in delegitimising any accusations of child sex trafficking levied at the elite. Conspiracy theories are meticulously designed to make us all into boys-crying-wolf, so that if someone does actually blow the whistle they are labelled as a schizo and instantly dismissed.
