Is /lit/ officially designated as a board for Muslims or مسيحيون? I am afraid I will refrain from posting here if it is the latter habibi.

Islamic art is pretty limited outside of calligraphy and architecture. I consider science far less abstract than doing philosophy and theology, and Muslims tend to be pretty bad at it. It's not a coincidence that the Western philosophy was able to develop into something worthwhile for the first time in over a millennium is when it abandoned the Christianized version of medieval Islamic philosophy.
that being said, medieval Muslims made many contributions to the development of science, but whether they've contributed more than any other group is likely impossible to measure.

Interesting that midwits always resort to "my faith is the one true faith" including Muslims, Catholics, Evangelicucks, etc etc.. Enlightened individuals, traditionalists and mystics are able to see beyond the curtain of religious dogma and search for the common truths and true essence of spirituality present in different religious traditions

But the difference is that's true for 100% of Muslims, and it seems ti be very related to their religion.
>>20022284
Everyone knows that Muslims were very successful during the Middle Ages. That doesn't change the fact that all positive development sin philosophy to have occurred during the last 500 years came from actively, even if it was indirectly, rejecting their work. No amount of cope can ever compare to the way Muslims themselves over exaggerate their achievements. hey even lie about inventing algebra when their religion tells them that lying is a very, very bad sin, and when they get called out, they'll just say that they invented modern algebra.

I guess natives would be the first to do it, which was something drilled into my head during my very Western education. The first Europeans to do it were the vikings. Colombus made it relevant to the world by opeing it up for long-term colonization, but that's a very different thing, and I would never claim he did it because I don't lie to overstate my people's achievements. It's why I've consistently stated that Muslims have made contributions to various fields of knowledge in this thread, even if my intellectual honesty makes me describe some of them less than favorably (like their negative contributions to philosophy) or limit the claims Muslims have made (like in the cae of their advancement of Algebra).

This is just dependent on a (in this case intentionally) bad understanding of used to justify an attraction to cultures and lifestyles that to them were novel, exotic, and absolutely reducible to Orientalism.
Guenon and his followers could be more accurately be labeled as stupid hypcracy-ism. They're really that bad.

What other arguments? I put Guenon in his historical context and stated that an honest look at him shows him to be more of an anti-traditional thinker than anything else. As far as I'm concerned Geunon's work is so Orientalist in nature that to deny that it was is practically to deny that it exists at all. The historical context is all that is needed in this case to demonstrate that Guenon and his followers are clowns.
>listen diaspoo, if your whole argument is that this is a good thing, dont bitch to me about it, rajNEET
I'm neither Hindu nor Indian. My mother took one of those DNA tests, and it said she was like half-a-percent Arab, but that's the closest I get. The reason for describing my education as "very western" was to contrast the way westerners talk about themselves to the way Muslims do. The education I received was obsessed with giving credit and describing the achievements of non-westerners as opposed to the way Muslims speak of themselves, which is to say that they're greatest at everything in all aspects. This can be seen earlier in the thread:
>It was my understanding that Muslims had made the more contributions to science and the arts than any group in history.
The fact that you couldn't infer this, demonstrates your inability to read more than anything else.
